Translating theory into practice is one of the vital aspects of developing a better professional. As usual, “Azerkimya Production Unit” of the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan held another “Summer Internship Program” this year to improve students’ understanding of practical knowledge in the field of chemistry and taught them to manage complex production of chemical industry. A few students including SonaAliyeva, AyselHuseynova, NamigAlkhanli, SevilGulami and FuadBakhtiyar of the faculty of Chemistry and Biology from Sumgayit State University took part in the program as well.
After successfully completing their internship program at Azerkimya Production Unit, students led by the head lecturer of the faculty of Oil Chemistry and Chemical Technologies, IradaNasirova were sent to the city of Izmir, in Turkey to continue their internship at one of the prestigious institutions of the world, Petkim Petrochemical Holding from August 1st until August 26th. The students got closely acquainted with the work of many facilities and installations at Petkim. During the internship programme, a commission consisting of professionals from both Azerkimya and Petkim held a contest on “mosteffectiveproposals” in which, AyselHuseynova from the faculty of Chemistry and Biology got the 3rd place.
The guide of the production internship programme, head lecturer, IradaNasirova thanked the rector of the university, Professor ElkhanHuseynov, and the authorities of Azerkimya and Petkim for their efforts in conducting the internship programme.
