There was an opening ceremony of 2nd Scientific Festival of Azerbaijan in Sumgait State Drama Theatre Hall and hereinafter, the festival went on with the scientific popular lectures in Sumgait State University. It should be noted that the festal is conducted by the mutual efforts of ANAS, UNESCO, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Communications and High Technologies, Executive Power of Baku city, Knowledge Fund under President of Azerbaijan Republic, The Fund of Scientific Development under President of Azerbaijan Republic, Embassy of US to Azerbaijan and Moscow State University. The other enterprises have also displayed their scientific works together with SSU’s faculties in the exhibition arranged in foyer.
Making an opening speech the deputy head of Executive Power of Sumgait on humanitarian issues, Mr. T. Samadov congratulated the attendees on the occasion of 2nd Scientific Festival being arranged in Sumgait and widely spoke about the educational system of Azerbaijan, the reforms to be taken in this field and applied innovations, meanwhile he notified the care of a national leader Heydar Aliyev to the science and education as well as in other fields. The speaker clarified as well that, being the center of the industry, Sumgait had always been under the focus of the national leader Heydar Aliyev as one of the strategic industrial places. In the duration of his management he personally took part in the development process of this city and took a permanent care of that. Nowadays, the all spheres are under the intensive development by the results of expedient indoor and outdoor policy of Ilham Aliyev, the president a worthy successor of the national leader Heydar Aliyev’s political way.
Making a speech in the festival the Committee Chairman of National Assembly (the secretary academician of the section on Biology and Medical Sciences) Mr. A. Amiraslnov , executive deputy director of “Azerkimya” Industrial Union Mr. V. Karimov and the director of Institute of Polymer Materials of ANAS (associated member of ANAS), Mr. B. Mammadov emphasized the great importance of the festival in order to increase the interest of youth to the science and to integrate the scientific achievements, and hereinafter they wished the best luck of the festival. Sharing about the services of national leader Heydar Aliyev for the development of science the rector of SSU prof. Elkhan Huseynov notified that the policy of education and science by the great leader is already demonstrating itself by the positive appearance. The state programs adopted on basis of appropriate order by a worthy successor of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, by the president of Azerbaijan Republic Mr. Ilham Aliyev, all played a significant role in the development of the science which are: “The National Strategy of science’s development of Azerbaijan Republic for 2009-2015”, “The State Program for Implementation of National Strategy of science’s development of Azerbaijan Republic for 2009-2015” and the statement on application of the “Order about Science” dated 09.08.2016.
Currently, about all conditions are provided for the students educated in our country in order to involve them into scientific researches. Advising the participants about the contest “Scholars of Tomorrow” conducted in our Republic, the rector noted that the contest play a significant role in appearance of the successful pupils by high level skills and creative. He mentioned that the scientific support will be realized by SSU in Sumgait on the basis of recommendation by Mr. Mikail Jabbarov, the Minister of Education of Azerbaijan Republic. The successful pupils are taking an active part in the contest with their scientific projects on specialties defined jointly with the professor and lecturer staff of the university. Meanwhile, our students are participating each year in the international conferences, symposiums and contests so that it increases an interest in science and scientific researches. The rector was also advised that our university has concluded an agreement on mutual cooperation with the several institutes of ANAS. Recently, under the leadership of Ministry of Education and the president of ANAS Mr. Akif Alizade was founded Scientific and Educational Center in order to increase an efficiency level of long mutual scientific cooperation between SDU and The institute of Polimer Materials. I believe that, the foundation of the Center will cause of growing high specialized professional staff.
The rector notified that the conduction of Azerbaijan Scientific Festival is great of importance to deliver widely the present achievement s of our science to the society and to involve the students into scientific activity and researches.
Afterwards, the representatives of SSU and PMI had the following presentations in the different fields in our university: professor of SSU Mr. Javanshir Mammadova “The role of scientific and technological parks in high schools”, professor Mr. Rafig Yusifoglu “The reality of life and literary life”, docent Mr. Islam Pashayev “The perspectives of the usage of sources on alternative and renewable energy”, docent Mrs. Savvare Rzayeva “Material and Higgs particle”, docent Mr. Cavid Mamiyev “ The values of multiculturalism in modern world”, docent Zarifa Damirova “The advantages of distance education”, professor Mr. Dursun Ashurov “The role of Chemistry science in the life of human”, the captain of Ministry of Emergency Situations Mr. Gorhmaz Hasanov “The rules of fire safety in educational enterprises ”, doctor of chemistry sciences of ANAS, Mrs. Nushaba Gurbanova “Nanoscience, nanotechnology, nanopolymer” and the representative of the Institute of Polymer Materials Mrs. Gulnare Gasimova ‘’The basis of mental property and innovation”. The artistic part of the event went on with songs of musical band of USA ”Acidic Band in the ballroom of the university”.
