Minister of Education awarded Professor Elkhan Huseynov rector of Sumgayit State University with Honorary diploma for his services in improvement of education, preparation of qualified cadres and for 55th Anniversary of the university
On November 15, board meeting was held at Ministry of Education. Board members, section heads of Ministry and rectors of higher educational institutions participated at the event. 
Commencing the meeting with opening speech, minister of Education Mikayil Jabbarov widely spoke about achievements gained as a result of reforms conducted in the field of education under the leadership of the President. 
Head of Science, higher and secondary special education department of Ministry of Education Yagub Piriyev made a report in board meeting on the results of student admission to universities in 2017-2018 academic years, as well as on affirmation of several rules and regulations adjusting the activity of higher educational institutions. 
Afterwards, deputy minister Matin Eynullayev gave information about establishment of Board of Rectors.
Abel Maharramov rector of Baku State University, Jafar Jafarov rector of AzerbaijanState Pedagogical University and Yusif Yusibov rector of Ganja State University delivered speech in the meeting on their activity in different fields like finance, education, research, international relations and etc.
Main activity directions of universities were discussed; suggestions were made about issues on the agenda. 
Minister of Education Mikayik Jabbarov expressed his opinions on the subjects reported in board meeting. 
After discussion Charter of Board of Rectors was approved in the meeting; decision on holding attestation of university vice-rectors in 2018 was affirmed.
Professor Elkhan Huseynov was awarded with Honorary diploma for 55th Anniversary of Sumgayit State University and Saleh Maharramov for 50th Anniversary of Nakhchivan State University. “Honored teacher” state award was presented to Khanhuseyn Kazimli by President Order.
