On December 14, the seminar of tutors was held at the University. The object of the event was to increase the tutors’ roles in the education process and in the public and political life of the University for enlightening the students about credit system. 
Panah Shirinov, the tutor of the Faculty of Chemistry and biology commenced the seminar with opening speech, greeted the guests and informed the attendees about some issues: education process and participation of the tutors in this process in autumn semester of 2017/2018 academic year; changes and amendments done with the Order № 257 dated June 14, 2016 to the Order № 348 of Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan Republic dated December 24, 2014; the roles of tutors in solution of problems occurring in teaching process; working with the students, etc. He noted that, Republic of Azerbaijan formally joined to the Bologna process in the conference held in Bergen, the city of Norway on May 19, 2005. It was a significant step on integration of our education system to international arena. The application of credit system in educational institutions is one of the main demands of Bologna process. In this regard, credit system was carried out at the universities for joining our higher education system to international system, according to the order of Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan Republic starting from 2005/2006 academic year. For supporting the students studying with credit system, service of academic advisers (tutors) was organized in higher educational institutions, including Sumgayit State University. PanahShirinov spoke about successful reforms conducted for improving the quality of education in our university thanks to Rector, Professor ElkhanHuseynov. He expressed his gratitude to the rector on behalf of the attendees for created circumstances for the tutors.
