Rector of University Professor Elkhan Huseynov commenced the event and noted that 95th anniversary of outstanding politician Heydar Aliyev is celebrated in all parts of our country. Not only citizens of the country, but also Azerbaijanis living all over the world celebrate this day as a holiday.  Phenomenon of Heydar Aliyev is an inalienable part of Azerbaijani history. He widely spoke about Heydar Aliyev’s significant role in statehood history and destiny of Azerbaijani people, the mission of national emancipation. Since 1993, as a result of Heydar Aliyev’s successful policy Azerbaijan has escaped from the threat of collapse and turned to be a developing state. Uniting nation around himself, he prevented insidious intents of internal and external forces. He succeeded in strong army establishment. Education matters have special place at Heydar Aliyev’s comprehensive activity. Over the years, led by Great Leader, he could achieve the establishment of intellectual cadre potential and foundation for living independently.  He defined development strategy of Azerbaijan and formulated the model of modern and sovereign Azerbaijan. One of his speeches, by declaring Ilham Aliyev his political successor National leader pointed out: “I believe that Ilham Aliyev will complete the fateful problems and plans which I could not terminate with support of my nation. I trust him and the future of my country”. The past years after this speech confirm that Heydar Aliyev was right in his thoughts. The achievements of last 15 years show that all his plans have been successfully realized. Rapid growth of Azerbaijan, improvement of not only oil, but also non-oil sectors, rise of material welfare of the citizens, conducting independent foreign policy are the indicators of gained achievements in the administration of President Ilham Aliyev.

They notified that, the activity of national leader Heydar Aliyev, who devoted his life to his nation and state works, will remain forever in the memory of our people.
