On May 8, winners were awarded of subject olympiads called “Today’s pupil is tomorrow’s scholar” in chemistry and biology dedicated to great leader Heydar Aliyev’s 95th anniversary. IX-XI grade pupils (124) of Sumgayit city schools participated in olympiad.
Rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov received the winners in Heydar Aliyev Center of the university. He noted that the reward you won in olympiad dedicated to Heydar Aliyev’s 95th anniversary under the motto “Today’s pupil is tomorrow’s scholar” will be memorable for you. Rector noted that Heydar Aliyev always paid attention to development of science and education. “Great leader paid special attention not only to education, but also to all spheres of life. Today, thanks to Ilham Aliyev who is a successor of his father, the role of our education in economic life has significantly increased. Education implements duties such as preparation of a citizen for future life and integration to a society. At the same time, technological progress requires renewal of knowledge and skills regularly. In turn, it increases demand for new and more proper qualification and enhancement of skills and abilities. Sumgayit State University contributing to scientific-intellectual potential of the society takes steps to meet education system’s challlenges of human capital development, expands its international relations and implements projects strengthening cadre potential. Sumgayit State University expands relations with prestigious universities of Eastern, European and Slavic countries, realizes scientific-pedagogical exchanges related to advanced technologies, management methods and innovations.”
