On July 18, a round table was held at Winter Park Hotel in the framework of project entitled “Preparing unified educational programs on accounting and audit compatible with novel standards and holding debates at Universities” which is conducted by Young Accountants Unity with financial support of State Support Council to Non-governmental Organizations under the President of Azerbaijan Republic.

The chairwoman of the Unity Solmaz Aliyeva commenced the meeting with opening speech and gave wide information about the project. She notified that the main purpose of the project is preparing primary version of unified educational program at universities related to transition to accounting compatible with new standards in the country and presenting it to related institutions.

Head of the Department of accounting policy of Ministry of Finance Firuza Abdullayeva, head of the Financial Science and Education Centre under Ministry of Finance Elman Huseynov, senior consultant of the Department of science, higher and secondary education of Ministry of Education Vusala Gurbanova and head of Department of Finance and Accounting of SSU docent Loghman Abdullayev delivered speech in the event. Several suggestions were made during the debate: preparing new textbooks, adapting new educational program on accounting to changed legislation, holding the lessons of accounting software at the laboratories, involving university lecturers to trainings, establishing close contact between employers and universities, conducting practice hours effectively at the universities and others. 

It was also noted that preliminary version of educational program which was prepared on specialty of accounting and audit in higher education will be presented to relevant institutions certified with signature of experts for reference and to Ministry of Education for authentication by considering the suggestions.
