On October 19, the next meeting of Scientific Board took place at the university. Rector of university Professor Elkhan Huseynov launched the meeting with welcome speech and spoke about the works carried out for strengthening scientific potential of Sumgayit State University and preparing scientific cadres, as well as pointed out the issues on agenda.

Vice-rector on Economic Issues Naib Hajiyev reported the works done for preparation to winter at the university and forthcoming substantial issues. He noted that an action plan was made for uninterrupted provision of university with heat and electricity. Boiler rooms were reviewed. Every 3 buildings of the university will be supplied with heat from November 1.

Rector gave his tasks about accelerating preparations and eliminating current problems within a short time.

Vice-rector on Science and Innovations Professor Ramazan Mammadov delivered speech about state of preparations to International and Republican scientific conferences, which will be held in SSU at second part of 2018. He notified that our university makes substantial strides toward establishing international relations and places great importance on expansion and advancement of these relations. Vice-rector said: “Our representatives regularly participate in forums, conferences and meetings and share their experience. The university holds International and Republican scientific conferences regularly. So, it is intended to organize one Republican and 2 International conferences at SSU this year.”

The following persons made reports accordingly: Vice-rector on Humanitarian Issues docent Ramiz Huseynov – about participation of delegation of SSU in XXI General Assembly of State Universities Association of Caspian countries; dean of the Faculty of Physics and Electroenergetics docent Tamella Ahmadova – participation of SSU delegation in the events on 50th anniversary of Kazan State Energetics University and about development of cooperation between two universities in the field of education and science; senior lecturer of Department of Solid and semiconductors physics Khayala Aliquliyeva – about participation of SSU employees in International Scientific Conference “Actual problems of Solid physics”, which was held in Minsk.

Scientific secretary Professor Mukhtar Samadov gave information about giving publication right (griffin) to teaching aids. He noted that 2 textbooks and 6 programs were sent to Scientific Board for publication right. Those teaching aids have been reviewed in sections of Editorial and publication board and Teaching-methodical board of the university; have been recommended to Scientific Board by expert feedback.

The issues on agenda were discussed; scientific secretary Professor Mukhtar Samadov acquainted board members with decisions of discussed issues, which were adopted unanimously.
