"This year Sumgayit State University is celebrating its 60th anniversary. Sumgait is my hometown. I spent several years of my distant youth in Sumgait, where I wrote my first poems. On the occasion of the 60th anniversary, I congratulate the rector of Sumgayit State University,  professor Elkhan Huseynov, the teaching staff, students and graduates."

People"s poet Vahid  Aziz noted that among the graduates of Sumgayit State University there are many scientists,  people working in various fields: "They are valued as high-level specialists. This is an indication that education and science are treated with high responsibility at Sumgayit State University. Last year, my book of poems called "Param-parcha years" was published on Victory Day. A great meeting was held about  me at Sumgayit State University. Rector professor Elkhan Huseynov himself participated in the event and gave a speech. I knew the rector of the university, Mr. Elkhan, about 45 years ago. At that time, I worked in the Baku city party committee, and Mr. Elkhan worked in a high position in the Baku city Komsomol committee. After  about 45 years, we met at the university. His simplicity and humanity help  for the formation of today"s healthy collective of the university.

Today, Sumgayit State University  provides the students high education. I am very happy that I participated in such a meeting  in the 77th year of my life. I met beautiful, sincere  people in the meeting. Once again, I congratulate the staff of the university and wish: celebrate the great anniversary of the university and be the first in Azerbaijan education!"
